York Art Gallery

York Art Gallery is a public gallery with a collection of paintings from the 14th century to contemporary as well as 20th century ceramics. It was built for the second Yorkshire Fine Art and Industrial Exhibition in 1879 and became the City Art Gallery in 1892. If I am completely honest with you, I stumbled across it whilst wandering around the city centre; I was heading for the Roman Walls and walked past this. It had to be captured as the sun was in the perfect place. Hopefully next time I am in York I will have more time to go inside and explore the gallery itself.
