This old street tram dates back to the early 1900’s. It runs between the central station and Liseberg Amusement Park in Gothenburg. It was good to see the variety of different types of trams, trains and buses that the city uses. Seeing this coming along Ostra Hammgatan was a highlight. Exploring the city centre of Gothernburg was one of my favourite things I did in my short trip to Sweden.
Swing ride at Liseberg Amusement Park
Slänggungan or Wave Swinger is a fairground ride. I enjoyed the challenge of photographing a lot more than I would have done riding it. If you see one of these carousels and have a camera try a capture it. It’s tricky to get the sense of movement without making everything too blurred. Visiting friends in Gothenburg I wasn’t expecting to go to an amusement park. They had booked for us to go to a wonderful all you can eat restaurant which was awesome. After eating way to much we went for a walk around the park.
German Church in Gothenburg
Christinae Church or German Church is in the centre of Gothenburg in Sweden. There has been a church here since 1623 for the growing German and Dutch congregation. The one we see today was the third church here, built in 1779. I didn’t go inside the church but I did spend quite a bit of time on the bridge with the pink flowers on it. There is a cafe on the bridge which made a great coffee and had some wonderful Swedish sweet treats to eat.
