This was taken from the lookout point on top of Mount Victoria. I was looking north across Lambton Harbour. The round “Cake-Tin” type building is the Westpac Stadium. Opened in 2000 with a capacity of 36,000 people it is mainly used for rugby and cricket fixtures. Auckland’s commercial docks (although much larger) are also near a stadium. Aside from the metal containers in Auckland the dock yard seems filled with hundreds of new cars, straight of the ships. Here in Wellington however, there are massive piles of timber awaiting export. If you look closely between the containers and the stadium you can see some of the fresh planks of wood.
