Lindisfarne Castle is in my opinion what Holy Island is famous for and this is the photograph that I wanted to get from this week in Northumberland. This was our first port of call when we got out of the car at about 9 in the morning. It was very quiet because the tide was in and this meant the majority of tourists weren’t on the island at the time. However, as we got to this spot, typically the weather clouded over and there wasn’t this warm light on the castle, so we went for a walk around the nature reserve on the other side of the castle. At about midday the sun came out and so we raced back to this spot to get the above photograph. It was worth the wait.
