One of the best things about a boat trip on Milford Sound is how close the boats can get to the edge of the fjord. This is because the side of the cliffs around are so steep and the water is very deep. As a result the captain took us within about ten metres of a colony of white seals who were sun bathing on rocks. A couple jumped into the water but must ignored us. The seal in the photograph above seemed to almost be posing for his photograph.
