Waterglass Sculpture at Alnwick Gardens

The Waterglass sculpture was another difficult works of art to capture on camera. Similar to the Vortex. I used the 10mm Sigma super wide angle on a tripod to allow for more control. Here there was a very reflective chrome sign in the hedge behind the fountain that I cloned out in Photoshop. The sign read:

“This sculpture shows a single in the form of a transparent, clear, unbroken membrane of falling water wrapping around a circular enclosure that can be entered and experienced from within, the outer views seen through the thin film of water. When there is no wind the film can be as clear as glass. The flutter effect at the foot of the water curtain is a cyclic phenomenon cause by a difference in pressure on each side of the water which causes it to suck to and fro.”
