Statue with Traffic Cone

Statue with Traffic Cone

It my final day in the city of Edinburgh and I wanted to make it special, so this morning I took the bus to the Royal Mile and then walked down it. As I was heading towards the Palace of Holyroodhouse I found this statue of David Hume. It has a traffic cone on its head, presumably placed there by drunken students from the previous evening. You may think it strange to publish such a photograph. Well it reminded me of a picture I saw of a statue in front of Glasgow College of art where students did the same thing and kept repeating the prank up till the council gave up and left the cone there permanently. I hope to visit the city of Glasgow on my next Scotland tour and take a photo for you.

Statue of Liberty – New York

Statue of Liberty - New York

Got up early and walked down to Time Square after breakfast. Took a few photos of Time Square in the day time and then jumped on a coach for a movie tour of New York City. Never realised just how many films are shot in and around New York. The tour ended about lunch time so I got the subway downtown to the Ferry. The group got the last ferry out to Liberty Island and I took a few photographs of the Statue of Liberty and views towards New York City from the island. We took got the ferry back to Manhattan and then subway back to the west side YMCA. That evening we all went to a Broadway Musical called Avenue Q which was basically an adult version of the Muppets and was extremely funny.
