Photographer Sign, Nantwich

I found this sign whilst taking photographs around Nantwich one rainy summer afternoon, if you look closely you can even see the drops of rain on the sign. I was going to go into the photographers shop to look around but whilst taking the photo I had a distinct feeling of being watch by the shop owner and decided not to venture inside. Unfortunately I didn’t get chance to remove the TV Ariel in the background in Photoshop, maybe I will update this image when I get the chance.

Seaview Sign on the Scottish Coast

I have been looking for photographs featuring signs for a few months now, because at the end of the year there is a “signs” competition. The above photograph of at “Seaview” sign was taken last month in Dunure. Dunure is a small fishing village on the west coast of Scotland. I don’t like the large amounts of grasses at the bottom of the image, although the contrast in colours between the greens and blues work well. If I had the chance to take this photograph again I would have definitely gone for a little higher view point, I was almost kneeing down to take this picture. However, I did do a little bit of weeding around the sign itself to make it more readable and less cluttered. This photograph probably won’t make it into my competition entry but I thought it would be good to put online anyway.

Donna’s Dream House in Blackpool

Parking the car in the main car park in the centre of Blackpool is always going to take a few minutes, especially on a sunny Saturday morning. Whilst we were driving around trying to find an available space I saw the photograph above just waiting to be taken. I decided to come back before we left as the light would be in a better place. There is an up and coming competition on signs and I think this is possibly good enough for an entry. Donna’s Dream House Charity is a trust providing sponsored free holidays of a lifetime in Blackpool for children with life threatening illnesses. I presume that these signs on the side of the house were formally lights from the Blackpool Illuminations.

Chorlton Water Park with Sign Post

I wanted to share two photographs from Sunday’s walk around Chorlton Water Park with you. The first shows the lake but second (above) shows more of the main part. There is a small children’s play area to the right along the path and the main car park is up the slope in the left side of this photograph. If I remember correctly the car park was free and for Easter Sunday it wasn’t as busy as I thought it would be. Although the water park itself had dozens of people walking around and sunbathing, as you can see in the picture. The inclusion of the sign post helps you understand where I was standing, I was actually facing north to take this picture . We did walk across the River Mersey (behind me as I take the photo above) but didn’t get as far as Sale Water Park because there were young children with us. I’m sure next time I go I will explore both, it is a great area for bike rides.
