Rainbow over Salford Quays

This was my third journey in the lift to the viewing platform at the top of the Imperial War Museum North. I wasn’t expecting the rainbow, just the rain. I could see that there was some wonderful light coming through the clouds and wanted strong light on the modern, reflective architecture of the Lowry and surrounding buildings. So I rushed to get to the top of the lift, but knew when looking at the crowds of people (after all it was a Saturday afternoon) that I would most likely miss the spectacular light and just get rain.

The above photo shows what I was greeted with when I made it to the top. You can almost make out a double rainbow and after spending the last few years photographing the Quays I can finally show you my most recent Salford Quays landscape featuring a rainbow, the second rainbow photo that I have ever taken.
