I stood here for about five minutes watching a couple of barges come up the canal and turn around in this area. The first went just out of the frame to the left and moored up. The second was clearly under refurbishment and needed a few coats of paint. So we have to settle for a photograph without a boat. The tall brick building just behind the bridge (that looks as if it could possibly have been a church at some point in its life) is now finally being refurbished, which is great to see. I like the contrast between the two towers, old versus new Manchester.
