The Sant Efis Hotel just outside Pula in the south of Sardinia has one of the nicest swimming pools I have had the pleasure to both photograph and swim in. Back in September 2007 my parents and I stayed here and as I have just finished my degree, I was thinking of holidaying. However, it will have to wait as I neither have the money nor the time, as I am now starting the process of taking my photography from part-time earner to full-time career. My future is exciting…
I have published a lot of weird and unique photographs of the strange ornaments that can be found at Willowpool Garden Centre in Lymn. This almost life sized pirate was stood in a clearing by the duck pond looking pretty beaten and battered. It reminded me somewhat of Johnny Depp from the Pirates of the Caribbean film series. He’s armless really!
I had taken almost the exact same shot back in 2005, although the wheel was a little smaller and not as permanent back in those days. Looking back through the archives I haven’t published many photos of the wheel in the daytime, certainly not like this, so I thought it was time to just show the structure in the light of day. This was taken from outside the new Arndale Entrance on Cross Street.
Whilst waiting for my friend John to come back over the field from photographing a nearby river, I decided I might as well photograph my new Nikon D300 digital SLR camera in the field. The lens is my trusty Nikon 18-200mm VR which I keep on this body 95% of the time. This shoot was taken in the north of the English Lake District National Park about 5 months ago, just a few weeks after I got it.
