Souk Al Bahar Dubai

Walking around the Burj Khalifa Lake there are dozens of huge buildings and spectacular architecture. The shores of this 30 acre artificial lake are home to the world’s tallest building and the world’s largest shopping mall. I was looking for some different architecture photographs. Souk Al Bahar (the sailor’s market) stands out visually due to the more traditional Arabic style architecture. The modern curved skyscraper in the background is the 63 floor Address Downtown. I really enjoy the contrast of old and new buildings, at least the visual perception of old and new. The Address seems to be loom up from behind the Souk Al Bahar. The Address Downtown was actually opened in September 2008 and is slightly older than the building in the foreground. Soul Al Bahar was opened in November 2008. Back in 2013 on my first visit to Dubai I photographed the Burj Khalifa Lake Bridge which shows a different view of the Souk Al Bahar.
