Purakaunui Falls

Capturing one of New Zealand’s most photograph waterfalls is a challenge. I will often do a Google Image search of a location to see how other photographers approached a subject. In this case, most people photograph Purakaunui Falls head on. As I did on my first visit back in 2018. So on my second visit the challenge was even more fun. How to photograph the same waterfall in a different way? In my first attempt I didn’t include enough of the beautiful nature surrounding the falls. So this time I took a step back and a wider angle. Seeing this tree branch I got the camera low. The branches to the left and above act as a visual frame to the falls. I think this is an improvement to my original Purakaunui Falls photograph.
