Mueller Glacier and Lake

In the heart of the hooker valley at the base of Mount Cook is the Mueller Lake. Visiting in late summer as I did the level of the water was clearly very low. The glacier that feeds this lake is the grey area of ice on the far left of the lake. From this angle it is mostly hidden by the ground off to the left. The mountain behind the lake is Mount Sefton. This range marks the boundary between the West Coast and Canterbury.
