This skyline illustrates the compression of perspective really well. I was stood outside the Lowry Shopping Centre looking towards the Beetham Tower / Hilton Hotel (on the right of the image). Looking for something to frame the skyline on the left I noticed the balconies of the apartments looking out toward the city centre. So zooming my camera out to 200mm, I was able to capture the above framing of Manchester’s skyline.
