Thirlmere Reservoir produced one of my favourite lake landscapes that I have taken so far. This was a nearby rock illustrating that the water from this reservoir goes to Manchester. The sign reads “This road over the embankment was opened by Alderman Sir Bosdin Thomas Leech, Deputy Chairman of the waterworks committee on 12th of October 1894.
