As a child I spent a long time collecting, building and playing with my legos. The design of the bricks and in particular the lego people are fantastic in my opinion. Which is why when I got my lego boxes out a few months ago to take some still life photography, I took a couple of the lego men back to my flat. The example in the above photograph rides around the top of a light that I have in the corner of my living room. It is a very colourful one from Ikea, but the top has a flat, white surface. So turning off all the other lights in the room and just using this diffused up-lighter gave an interesting feel to this photograph.
