Dubai is the city of skyscrapers, but I hadn’t seen all that many until I was on the metro back from the Palm Jumeirah and looked across the (original) coast line to see a forest of huge buildings. Looking on the map it was Dubai Marina and I knew I had to go there. Above is the first image of the evening I captured. The buildings are a mix of hotels, shopping malls and apartments. It reminded me of Salford Quays on steroids!
In the foreground you can see the artificial canal, carved along a two mile stretch of the shoreline. The majority of these high rise buildings are between 250 and 300 metres with some taller than 400 and one which rises to 516 metres!
