Drombeg Stone Circle

Drombeg is one of the most visited megalithic sites in Ireland. The stone circle had originally 17 closely space stones. Today there are 13 left. There was a small hill to the right as I went through the gate into the field. This was the view looking south towards Brulea and the Celtic Sea beyond. It was just over an hours picturesque drive out of Cork to get to this location. For me it was worth it as I remember visiting here as a 5 year old child. I was with my dad and uncle Michael, both keen photographers. Whilst I probably did take a photograph at the time on black and white film that image has been lost. What I do remember was my uncle using a large format film camera and taking literally hours at this location for one photograph. This time I was only there 20 minutes but I’m really happy with this photograph.
