Canal Street is a pedestrianised street along the west side of the Rochdale canal in the centre of Manchester. Recently on a Sunday morning I decided to take my camera to this corner of the city for the first time and was very fortunate to find a canal barge coming under the bridge I was stood on and into this lock in the foreground. You can see some of the gay bars and restaurants that line Canal Street to the left of the photograph.
