Whistling Sands in Porthor, Wales

The sandy beach on this National Trust owned area of the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales is called Porthor (also known as Port Oer). It is famous as Whistling Sands, so called because of the rounded grains of sand that squeak when walked upon. The above photograph was taken this year on my second trip down to the bay. This time I made sure I climbed up the coastal path to get to this high view point looking down on over the bay.
