Having heard of Venice beach I wasn’t expecting to see canals. The “Venice of America” was built in 1905 as a recreation of Venice, Italy. Most of the canals have been filled in and only a few blocks remain. In 1992 they were extensively renovated and today are lined with funky, expensive, and architecturally diverse urban homes. With the wonderfully clear weather and still water give great reflections I took hundreds of photographs as I walked up and down the canals for a few hours. This is one of my favourites because of the small red canoe in the foreground.
Its a gorgeous photo Ed. How long are the canals then and are they all similar?
