Here we see one of the series of five 2.5 metre high sculptures designed by Colin Spofforth. Found on First Street in Manchester the concept was to project the sculptures up into the trees lining the street. Seeing this sculpture’s hand position I thought it might work well to give the impression it is leaning against the Beetham Tower. Of course this is just a distortion of the perspective and the tower is hundreds of metres away on the other side of Deansgate Locks.
