Often the simplest of subjects can be the most challenging and are regularly overlooked, certainly by myself. The above photograph was taken at the Anson Engine Museum in Cheshire. It wasn’t part of my original selection of best images, but after recently re-evaluating my archives this record photograph really stood out. The dark background really highlights these three old lanterns. All in slightly different conditions but for me they were certainly worth capturing on camera.
