There is a great lesson to learn here. Black and white images have a LOT of power. When I took an image with a great blue sky I used to think that the image needed the colour to give the viewer the impression of how fantastic the weather had been for me that day. However, as you can see here, with a little raw post processing you can darken down the blue channel of the converted monochrome image to create this impressive effect.
