Searching the internet for interesting events in London to photograph last week, I noticed that City Hall was open to the public for the weekend I had booked to be down there photographing the capital (17th & 18th May). It would have been wrong not to go, so I got the tube down on the Sunday morning expecting to wait in long lines, but there were no lines. Obviously there was a lot of security to get into the building, which is the headquarters of the Greater London Authority and the Mayor of London. When we got up to the 9th floor the views were spectacular. I had been waiting two days to see blue sky and good light and today was perfect. The above photograph was taken from the balcony on the 9th floor of City Hall.
