Above is a close up detail of the top of the Trevi Fountain. It was taken late in the afternoon to maximise the angle of the sun to give a three dimensional look. Looking closely you can see the carvings on the stone from the roses at the bottom of the frame up to the patterns on the Mitre of the Pope. It is only when you look again at the full fountain that you get an idea of the level of carving that this world famous fountain and work of art has throughout its facade.
