This BMW 325 Rally Car was driven by Jon Ross with Martin Auskerin as the co driver on the 2011 Malcolm Wilson Rally in the Lake District. It is another B12 class of car which I found one of the most interesting car types to photograph, as they are older cars that I have never seen on a rally stage before, only at classic car shows. It was nice to see what they can do through the forest stages.
Vauxhall Calibra Rally Car
This rallying Vauxhall Calibra was photographed at the 2011 Malcolm Wilson Rally in the Lake District National Park on one of the later, afternoon stages. In the B12 class it was driven by Russell Davies with John Fellowes as Co-driver. It was 3rd in its class and position 42 overall, which is extremely impressive. Although I find that the sign in the background is a little distracting, the massive spray of dirt and stones as the car power slides around the corner more than makes up for it.
Ford Focus WRC Rally Car
As a driver and owner of a Mark 1 Ford Focus car, this much more modern and advanced WRC version always has a special place in my mind. It was driven by Paul Bird with Kirsty Riddick as the co-driver at this years (2011) Malcolm Wilson Rally up in the Lake District / Cockermouth. This rally car is a WR1 class car and came 4th overall in the Rally back in March.
Peugeot 205 XS Rally Car
This Peugeot 205 XS was photographed at this year’s Malcolm Wilson rally up in the Lake District National Park. My mum used to have a red 205 (not an XS obviously) so I was a little surprised to see this one sliding around the corner towards my camera. It was driven by Patrick Messer with Natalie Messer as the co-driver. The Malcolm Wilson Rally is a great chance to see a whole range of rally cars, in this case it is a 1400C Class car.
