Despite the name, Largo di Torre Argentina is a square in Rome, Italy. Home to four Republica Roman temples, the remains of Pompey’s Theatre and the Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary. A “no kill” shelter for homeless cats. As you look closely at the remains of the buildings in the square you start to see cats, many cats. Then you start to count. I got to over 30 before I gave up counting, but I suspect that there are dozens and dozens, maybe even hundreds of stray cats served by this shelter. This particular cat pictured above was enjoying the warm winter sun.
