Not having been to Newbiggin-by-the-sea, I didn’t know what to expect when I saw it on the map. Sadly I hadn’t planned many locations further north than Whitley Bay, but stood looking North from Blyth I could see this very familiar looking church. It is familiar because I have seen some fantastic photographs in competitions over the years and on seeing it on the horizon I felt the need to drive out of my way in order to capture my own attempt. It was a little late in the day, but I think that was a blessing because the early evening summer sun lit up the church really nicely.
