The part of this photograph that really caught my eye here was the water. In the top half of the photograph there is quite a lot of light on the buildings and bridge so that it almost looks as if it was taken in the daytime. However, the water was clearly moving and due to the camera being set to a long exposure, it creates this shiny, reflective look that seems almost like ice. In fact I could have probably told you this was taken on a cold winter morning when the water was completely frozen over. I’m not a liar and I have never seen this area of water frozen over, this is purely a visual effect created in the camera.
