Roman Water Fountain

The Romans are famous for many great achievements, one in particular is their fresh water plumbing. This is still evident walking around the city centre. There are drinking water fountains all over the city and unlike most, where you might press a button to get water, they are running 24/7 with fresh drinkable water. The fountain photographed above is not necessarily a drinking fountain, but I did see a couple of tourists filling up their water bottles from it. I thought it would make a interesting black and white photograph. It was captured just next to the metro station opposite the Colosseum.
