This is one of the first views I saw of Lake Wakatipu. Kingston Road (also known as Highway 6) leads north to Queenstown. The way that the road hugs the shoreline seem to make for a great lead line taking the eye to the mountains in the distance. From this point the lake doesn’t look very big. Due to the dog leg shape of this 50 mile long lake, it is impossible from the ground to photograph the whole lake in one image.
