Rapids at Hollyford River

Running along side the Milford Sound Highway is the Hollyford River. At this point there are some great looking rapids on this otherwise very clear water. The river runs for 80 miles between Lake Te Anau and the Tasman Sea. Popular with both kayakers and trout fishers, sadly neither activity could be seen when I stopped here. It would be very exciting to see someone on a kayak navigating this particular section of rapids, however I believe they generally favour charmer waters with a few less rocks.
