Pink Rose Flower

For the past year I have been capturing flowers at every opportunity and have had mixed success, but lots of colourful flora in my image library. The biggest problem is naming the flowers. This as far as I know is a rose and if I can be certain of anything, it is pink. The above photo was taken in my parents garden using my Nikon 50mm f/1.8, which is extremely good in my opinion at hand held close up work and the next best thing to a dedicated macro lens. Here the flower head was very small, but I didn’t use the Vivtar 10x close up filter / lens as I didn’t have it at the time. The background is a little too light for my liking. My next step in flower photography is to try and use flash and see what I can capture, there the backgrounds will be completely black.
