Not all Vespa / Piaggio scooters are in perfect condition. The above scooter van was photographed at Rome’s famous Campo de Fiori market. A few hours later I walked back through the market to see the owner had piled crates and tables about five or six feet high on the back of this scooter van! Obviously this is a very old machine, but is clearly still used every day. The way the locals drive these things around the narrow streets is unbelievable, weaving in and out between huge (in comparison) taxis and buses!
