Got up early and walked down to Time Square after breakfast. Took a few photos of Time Square in the day time and then jumped on a coach for a movie tour of New York City. Never realised just how many films are shot in and around New York. The tour ended about lunch time so I got the subway downtown to the Ferry. The group got the last ferry out to Liberty Island and I took a few photographs of the Statue of Liberty and views towards New York City from the island. We took got the ferry back to Manhattan and then subway back to the west side YMCA. That evening we all went to a Broadway Musical called Avenue Q which was basically an adult version of the Muppets and was extremely funny.

After the trip up the Empire State Building I did a little shopping around Macy’s and Dr. Jay’s. I then took the subway back to the YMCA. That evening a few of us walked back to 5th ave to the Rockafeller Centre. This recently opened (October 2005) a viewing platform at the top of the building which is open till 11pm at night so gives great views from the 70th floor. As you can see in the photo I took below.

Got up early to clear sunny skies, so I walked down with Mike to the Lincoln centre on the west side. Then back around the block and into central park, it was a nice little walk and I got a few pictures. We then met up with the whole group and walked through central park to the Guggenhein Museum. This was under re-development so looked very ugly from the outside but the inside was still open, it was better then last time but still a little disappointing. So I walked back into central park to get some photos over the reservoir. The whole group then walked down 5th ave to the Empire State Building (about 3 miles away). Due to the weather being so clear we could see for miles from the 86th floor. Again I took loads of photos.
New York Time Square
Finally after a long journey I arrived at the hostel (west side YMCA) I was staying at for around 3pm. We walked down Broadway to Time Square and went to Ellen’s Stardust Diner for a lovely three course meal. Took loads of photographs of Time Square as the sun went down of New York City.
