Vespa Scooter Handlebars

Vespa Scooter Handlebars

Taken at my favourite time of day, dusk, the light seems just perfect in my opinion. The image has a dark feel to it with a tone of street lighting, but the bike’s mirrors and chrome elements reflect the slight blue sky above. This scooter has clearly been used for years, the left mirror has two cracks in it and there are large scuff marks on the area below the handlebars. If inanimate objects could talk I am sure this Vespa would have a few stories to tell.

Oscar Graffiti

Oscar Graffiti

Found on the wall of an underpass / subway going under a busy road in Vilamoura, Portugal this graffiti really caught my eye. It reads “Oscar”, which I am presume is the name of the artist who created this piece. I think there is great detail in the drips and shading coming off the bottom of the text, it is really good. It takes a lot of practice to be able to do this with spray paint.

Portuguese Flag

Portuguese Flag

Going to a new country I like to try to capture the flag on film (well memory card these days!). This was taken from one of the beaches on the south coast of Portugal on my first trip to the country a few weeks ago. As you can see, there was a strong wind down on the sea front and this helped me record the flag in all it’s glory.

Virgin Mary on Portuguese Tiles

Virgin Mary on Portuguese Tiles

This was captured down what looked like a back alley in a very run down area of Vilamoura. As you can see these hand painted tiles are in perfect condition. Keen eyed viewers will spot the number 12 just below the image of the Virgin Mary. These tiles were above the doorway of number 12 on this particular alley / street.
