Skeleton Tree Sunset at Dunham Park

Skeleton Tree Sunset at Dunham Park

Taken on the last day of 2005, on a family walk around Dunham Park. One thing I really enjoy about winter is when the sun does come out and the skies look interesting, the naked trees look very strange. It seems like they are massive creatures that are stood tall and hibernating through the winter, waiting for the spring when they come back to life and grow leaves again. I’m not sure what attracted me to publishing this photograph, but I think I just enjoy looking at the pattern of the silhouetted tree shapes.

Had a great night last night at one of my friends houses, although I didn’t drink as much as I thought I would so this morning I was in the mood for a photo walk around Altrincham. Since moving into the centre of Manchester I miss the around of South Manchester that I used to walk through on a daily basis, things in my home town are changing all the time and a lot of money is being spent on building around the town. This photo shows the back of the newly completed Altrincham Cinema complex (silver building to the left) and new apartment buildings (to the right). Luckily a train was passing at the time of capture which adds interest although it was raining at the time that I took this photograph.

Sunset over 2006

Sunset over 2006

I was just changing to head out to a New Years Eve party. Looking out of my bedroom window I saw a wonderful sunset over towards Hale and Altrincham. I grabbed my camera but I obviously didn’t get chance to set up my tripod or monopod. Its not the best photograph but it was a lovely sunset to end the year. Today was very windy, stormy and raining for the most of the day. I am looking forward to 2007 and hopefully will develop my photography and website throughout the next year. Enjoy your evening and have a happy new year.

Hale Barns Square – Cheshire

Hale Barns Square - Cheshire

I woke up this morning quite late after a long night on projects of mine. The day was wonderful, beautiful blue skies and fluffy clouds – just the day to get out and take some great photos. So I got on my bike and went around the local area taking photos of some of the buildings which I know are being re-built, restored or renovated. The photograph below shows Hale Barns Square, near Altrincham in Cheshire. According to a sign on a lamp-post all these shops you can see in this image are due to be demolished for a new “improved” shopping area. According to locals, this is a bad idea and they seem to like it the way it is – personally, I’m undecided.
