Sitting on the open top bus might be a touristy thing to do but you get some unique perspectives on the city. Here the bus was stuck in traffic going west along Knightsbridge from Hyde Park corner. Looking up and I thought what is that ugly building? And I captured this image thinking it could make for a dramatic black and white photograph. It turns out this is The Park Tower, home to The Park Tower Knightsbridge Hotel and Grosvenor Casino. I shouldn’t be surprised given the location but this is a luxury 5 star hotel. It was designed by Richard Seifert and opened in 1973. I don’t like this style of 70s architecture. I wonder how many ugly £500+ a night hotels there are in the world?
