Palm Trees are found on almost of the 130 islands of French Polynesia. Moorea is no exception. This was taken on the waters edge at Ōpūnohu Bay. If you look closely you should be able to see two or three coconuts on the tree in the foreground. It seemed like nearly all of the palms I saw were coconut palms. They obviously provide a delicious sauce of food. It is also quite fascinating to see how the Polynesian people used to cut open the coconuts without metal tools.
