The Quays area of Salford is somewhere I have taken my camera dozens of times to capture the modern architecture, but recently I visited the nearby historic house of Ordsall Hall. I had seen it on a map a couple of years ago and planned to capture a photograph of the outside of the hall when I was next in the area, but this never happened. It was an evening out with Sale Photographic Society when we had a private tour of the whole hall that finally got me to go down with my camera. The above photograph is taken inside the Great Hall, the staircase on the bottom left of the frame leads to the Star Chamber.
