You did read that right, the above picture of an open fire was taken inside a treehouse. Long time readers will remember my trip to Alnwick Gardens earlier this year, I wasn’t expecting much but was amazed by one of the most modern gardens I have ever had the joy to photograph. The treehouse was the highlight. Inside the main area is a restaurant, unfortunately it was fully booked when we went, but I was able to take some pictures inside. In the centre of the room is this large open fire, with a chimney going up into the roof. It’s very weird to be walking around Europe’s largest treehouse, open a door and see fire. It was perfectly safe however, just a shock at first.
