Driving along the B5343 through the Lake District National Park I stopped at a car park and walked across the road down to the River Brathay which I could see on the map leads to Elter Water, a lake I hadn’t been to before. The water on the river was surprisingly still and therefore with the weather conditions there were some interesting opportunities for reflections on the water. Trying to not get too excited / distracted by this I continued to explore the banks of the river and came across the above old tree. I am not sure what had happened to it but it was very hollow, so much so I could walk into the middle of the tree!
