As soon as I got out of the car and saw that the mist had rolled in and covered my view of all the things I wanted to shoot I thought that the night was ruined. Fortunately I knew that cameras (particularly on a long exposure setting) see differently to what your eyes do. In fact the mist almost adds to the photograph and gives the appearance that Manchester United’s Old Trafford Football ground is floating above the ice and mist.
