Parts of the rugged west coast of the south island remind me of Australia’s Great Ocean Road and the limestone stacks of the Twelve Apostles. This area is far more remote and clearly does not get as many tourists. I feel that it is a more photogenic coastline, even if it might not have the weather. Here on the edge of the Tasman Sea the weather changes fast than anywhere else I have been in the country. It is well worth battling the weather for the occasional blue skies and incredible landscapes.
