I’ve photographed this lighthouse before, but it had been many years since I had been in New Brighton. The last time was in 2009 and not much had changed with the lighthouse itself. My friend Mark now lives nearby. So when I booked my flights to the UK we set a time in our calendars to catch up and go out for sunset and dusk. The weather wasn’t really on our side but we made the most of it. Even having a chance to get a quick drone flight. This photograph was taken from the ground. Back in 2009 when I photographed the lighthouse at New Brighton, I avoided the Port of Liverpool in the background on the other side of the River Mersey. This time I included it. Getting the camera very low to the ground to include the reflection of the lighthouse on the beach.
