This field is in Derbyshire, more specifically in the Peak District National Park. I don’t often photograph “just another field” but here the rusty sign caught my eye. It reads “mowing grass keep off”. Although the sign is a little dark compared to the rest of the photo, which does let the image down, I found the idea of mowing grass to be a strange one. Obviously the farmer doesn’t want the general public walking on his precious grass but I can’t think why, does he mow the grass to then use it as animal feed?
