Manchester Urbis in Snow / Ski Slope

Late in the same day that the previous snow picture was captured, I spent my lunch hour walking around the city centre and Cathedral Gardens. I can remember when Urbis was first completed and a lot of newspapers reported that it looked like a ski-slope. Well today it really was a ski slope. Thinking about it – I wonder how much it would cost to convert? After all in Piccadilly Gardens this Christmas season there was a slope (a little smaller) where people could pay a couple of pounds to sit in a rubber ring and be pushed down it. Put some sides on the edges of this roof and remove the round air vents and that might be reality! Realistically speaking, that glass roof probably would never be able to support the weight of the equipment / people etc.
