The Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank Observatory was once the world’s largest steerable dish radio telescope when it was completed in 1957. This means that it can rotate through 360 degrees. Sadly it is now only the third largest. I have been meaning to get a photograph at the right time of day and here I feel that I achieved this aim. The tree on the left is much closer than the telescope and I chose to kneel down on the soil to give the whole image a good base.
